Let’s Go For a Ride!

July 24th, 2010 by megan

Katelyn LOVES her new wagon! Thanks Grandma & Grandpa! If she see’s it out the window she’ll run to the door and ‘tell’ us that she wants to go outside for a ride.

Brad thought it would be fun to go for a ride too…

Aren’t they just so adorable being kids together? I love watching Brad play with Katelyn it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside :D

Where’s My Little Brother?

July 11th, 2010 by megan

Ha – I thought I’d drag you in with that title… don’t get your hopes up – it’s not what it seems. :D

We had our neighbors over for dinner a few months ago. They have a 3 year old boy who thought that it was pretty cool to have new toys to play with while we all ate some delicious grilled hamburgers! Vessa made a great potato salad. I’ll have to get the recipe from her – it was really yummy!

Katelyn thought that their little boy was the coolest thing since Jell-O…

She followed him all around and wanted to do everything he was doing. He was so nice and would usually give her whatever toy he was playing with. But, the best part is that he kept calling Katelyn his ‘Little Brother.’ Our neighbors are actually pregnant and having a boy around the end of August. It made my day. They actually played tag – chasing each other around our small apartment. It was a great evening. It was just a cute little story I had to share. Plus these pictures of Katelyn eating green Jell-O are pretty fun too.

Where Have We Been?!

July 10th, 2010 by megan

After a a brief break (due to the demise of our family server) we’re BACK, thanks to Brad’s hard efforts and skills. Our server decided it was done working for us. We’ve sadly been without our blogs for almost two months now. Don’t worry – we have lots to catch up on! Thanks for checking back on us! Keep coming back for more – there’s LOTS to come!

A few pictures to tide you over until I can get all our adventures posted!

One of Katelyn’s favorite things to do to annoy her parents is to slam the doors on our entertainment center while we are watching TV.

Megan’s solution: don’t watch TV – it’s bad for me anyways. I like having doors it makes things nice and neat and hides the TV

Brad’s solution: take the doors off… keep the TV cabinet clean. Keep husband happy…

Who do you think won? We went with Brad’s idea – it’s especially helpful to have a happy daddy watching a movie and the baby while I fix dinner…

Here is Katelyn enjoying some much needed outside time on those few days it was actually warm. She’s asking her daddy if she can have another stick. Yes my little GIRL loves rocks, sticks, dirt, cars & trucks, and will NOT keep anything in her hair! I thought she was going to be my little princess… I guess I was mistaken. Please meet G.I. Katelyn. :)

I also love the fact that her belly stretches her shirt out sooo bad. It was a bad combination of too small of a shirt and too tight of pants. Sorry baby girl… mommy will just have to go shopping for some new clothes. (He He He)

Despite the fact that she loves more boy things than girl things she still is the cutest thing in the world…I’m just saying…

Here’s a prime example of what we call “The Frown” that makes her look some what similar to her dad – especially during finals week!

These are Katelyn’s new shoes.

Katelyn has never worn them until now… oh well!

Not only are they super cute – but now they are super scuffed up! I guess that’s just what happens when you’re a toddler who wants to explore the world outside!

We had a fun work/school party with all of Brad’s friends and co-workers. Kind of a ‘going away for jobs and internships and we’ll see you next semester thank heaven finals are over’ party. :) Katelyn wanted to explore EVERYTHING! I finally got her to sit still and unload her diaper bag…it was a small price to pay to keep her entertained for a few minutes.

I promise I’ll post more later! Keep coming back!

Katelyn-zilla vs. The Chick

May 5th, 2010 by megan

Katelyn is loving all the family around! This little girl loves to go outside for walks in her new wagon that Grandma got to pull her around in. On one of our walks we stopped at my Grandma’s house for a quick visit. They just had some new chicks hatch. We thought it would be a cute picture of Katelyn petting the baby chicken…

Katelyn thought that she should give the chick a kiss…

Holding the chick again…

And finally, hugging the chick (see the arrow – those are its feet…)

In case you were wondering – it was a draw – the chick survived. :)

Newest Digital Scrapbooking Kit Freebie

May 1st, 2010 by megan

I know it’s been a long time since I’ve made a digital scrapbooking freebie. But I had a blast making this one! I decided to try out a “Blog Train.” Meaning about 30 designers got together with a common color pallet and each of us created something that had those colors. Some designers (like me) made complete kits, others just made a few papers, or an alphabet, or elements, or quick pages, etc. You get  the idea. The best part is that everything on the ‘Blog Train’ is FREE! Plus, you end up with TONS of coordinating papers and elements.

If you’ve ever thought about doing digital scrapbooking and have any questions – shoot me an e-mail, I’d love to help! Here’s a preview of my kit – you can download it for FREE on my Design Blog Here:

I also have a few other kits designed that you can download for free too. :) I’m in the process of creating an ABC Digital Alphabet Book/Kit. I can’t wait for it to be done!

We Won – We Won Beacon!

April 26th, 2010 by megan

I am so excited – my little sister just won The Professional Beauty Association Beacon Competition! Out of 600 applicants 100 are chosen based on the presentation and content of their resume, portfolio, and marketing pieces submitted to the competition.

Beacon is a part of PBA Beauty Week which held in cooperation with PBA Symposium, the North American Hairstyling Awards and Cosmoprof North America.  She will get to meet some amazing hair professionals, learn some great stuff, enjoy VIP front row seats during the award ceremonies, and gets to go on a guided tour through the largest international hair trade show.

I got to help her with some of her marketing stuff. She came up with everything, I just helped her out. First off, a menu of all her prices for her salon someday…

Menu_4.jpg

We designed a shirt with her salon’s logo going down the side. She actually got shirts designed just like this.

Finally, everything together, menu, shirt, and of course some business cards.

Preview copy

Congratulations Kira!

More Fun Projects…

April 22nd, 2010 by megan

I’m on a project kick I mean creative stroke of genius. I’m actually finishing my projects too! I have been dying to recover the pillows in our front room – they were looking really…uummm…how to say it politely – disgusting.

See -

You can’t really tell (because I’ve tucked and placed them oh so neatly on my couch) but they are literally falling apart.

Here’s my new pillows – I didn’t recover them… I just made new ones!

I also found this fabulous mirror to complete part of my front room design – $25 @ Ross! Awesome deal! I repainted the small frame blue to match the accent color of the pillows.

More Fun Projects!

April 18th, 2010 by megan

I have a few more projects to show:

First off, my mom is the Young Women’s Stake President and is helping to plan their stake girls camp. As part of their theme – Get a Grip (Hold to the Iron Rod) – they are giving the girls this charm. She bought them online from charmingldsgifts.com I put the rings on each charm. I also designed the ‘card’ that I stapled the charms to. There were over 300 charms total! It was actually really fun and I had a fun time designing everything. My mom is my best design client. :)

Another fun project that my mom taught me – we painted shirts. We used her Cricut and a program called Sure-Cuts-A-Lot (which allows you to use any font or graphic on you computer to be cut out on your cricut as long as you have one cartridge plugged in. It’s awesome! So worth it and makes it so you don’t have to buy their expensive cartridges you just use whatever font you want on your computer or what ever graphic image!) Anyways…we used it to make some shirts for Poulton Photography:

And one final project – Katelyn’s First Year Birthday Book got here! Hooray! I have a previous post – here – but I have to say that I absolutely love how it turned out! It was cute looking at all the pages on my computer and such a great feeling to have her first year scrapbooked…but it was even better to actually hold the book in my hands and look through the pages. Everything was perfect! The book itself feels like a high quality book -thick pages, great colors, etc. I used ArtsCow.com to print. They have great stuff at the best prices I’ve been able to find online. Katelyn loves to look through all the pages too!

Is Dr. Katelyn In?

April 17th, 2010 by megan

Katelyn has taken to wearing her stethoscope while she plays. I got a few pictures of her playing with it and the rest of her ‘Dr. Kit’ that she got from Grandma & Grandpa. It’s so cute – especially with her jammies and the onsie underneath – they almost look like scrubs!

Katelyn's Photo Shoot

April 7th, 2010 by megan

I’ve been wanting to do a photo shoot with Katelyn for a while now. I didn’t have a lot of time to actually go somewhere but parent’s backyard worked great for a few pictures! I LOVE how they turned out. She’s so beautiful and so much fun to play with. She discovered that she really likes rocks while were were visiting family in St. George. She must be part Stratton too! Here’s some pictures of our beautiful baby girl!
